My opinion: If you have interest and know how to create new land tiles, do it. Dont go overboard with recreating Dragon. Just modify Dragon from a standard version with your new tiles... Or, better yet, maybe just a simple package containing:
Keep it simple, because trust me.... even if you keep it go overboard to making it easy for everyone, you will still be explaining How-To do it over and over to people.. Dunno why, but its inevitable ![]() |

Current stage of designing: http://maerun-world.pbnet.ru/UO/RPGmodPalette.bmp Grass Forest Snow Dirt Jungle Rock Sand Cave Cobble Black - STANDART. 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 ALT. Haunted Forest - forest with black trees and plants without leaves. 0, 10, 20, 30. Spider Woods - forest with spiderwebs. 0, 10, 20, 30. Frozen Plains - snow with white-hued trees, white crystals, bones nad skulls. 0, 10, 20, 30. Organic - Tile for designing Gazers dungeons, but can be used for any other issues. 0, 10, 20, 30. Swamp - standart -5, 0, 5, 10. Mountain peaks - basic snow, but highest altitude for making polar caps for mountains. 65, 70, 75, 80. Desert Ruins - sand with sandstone ruined walls, from single to large ones. 0, 10, 20, 30. Cave Wall - standart 20, 30, 40, 50. Redstone tile - standart, used in britain center for cobbleroad borders. Structure floors: Stone pavers - Blight, Mid-gray and Dark Dungeon Darkwood floor Then Lava -5, 0, 5, 10; Water -5,0,5,10; Ice Lake -5, 0, 5, 10 Starfloor -5, 0, 5, 10 , something i've forgotten and then snow forest(cedar) then going (down-right corner) sand coast -1, -2, -3, Rock valley for mountain overbording 2, 3, 4 and two types of cave entrances. "pure" white blocks are still not specialized. Also it will be Actions included to pack: Smooth 1 (mb 2) for F4 Grass Mount Gen (generating grass mount from selection) for F5 Dirt Mount Gen (generating dirt mount from selection) for F6 Low Mountain Gen (mountain gen from selection Z: 40) for F7 High Mountain Gen (high mountain gen from selection Z: 80) For F8 I'll find the most needed tools for F9-F12 too, and include it to Actions pack. I'm working on that right now. |

I would check out this discussion http://www.ryandor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1115 before I wasted swatches for secondary tilesets, but that's just me. |
