First of all , i want to tell that im pretty much time had together with dragoon , but well as im oly on 256 mb ram some of my things i want to make is quite
hard and takes alot of time.
So i have found out about Punts masterpiece Map generator , and in this case i have some questions , they are the following :

1.Is there any example Terrain and attlitude .bmps found somewhere ? Or if dont can someone show them, Also how much Colors i can use in attlitude and terrain should sum 255 or each can have such as amount?
2. How to see , or make new swatches?
3.Is it possible to make such as yew trees using this program? like LEaves are -z amount but main item is on the ground?
4.how much time and what kind of Pc requirements it asks?
Is it will be possible to make the map using p4 2 ghz 256 ram ?
And Is the program workable to work with files like 100mb over? in such as small ram?

thank you alot

I dont have time atm to answer, however I really hope you have tried searching the forums for these questions you ask, most all have been discussed in detail, several times, here or at http://worldmaker.ryandor.com

I'm also new in map making but i compiled my map several times with mapgen2.....it took 24 minutes on AthlonXP 2500 512 RAM....with working photoshop,icq,winamp in the same time....

Talking about swatches....you can enter the folder with your mapgenerator (i.e)D:\MapGenerator II\data .....then open terrain.xml........there you'll see different names of tiles and the color for them in the same line like:
Code:
<Terrain Name="Deep Water" ImgIndex="0" Hash="0x00" Tile="168" Red="0" Green="0" Blue="130" BaseAltIndex="16" />

so the RGB will bee 0 0 130

Map Generator can compile a map fine, on a 256 ram system yes. it would be estimated at around 30 minutes or so. a 512 system is around 24 mins.. Map Generator is not dependant on ram so much.. I forget exactly, but it has more to do with the image size itself.
