There is a patch for Oblivion that is supposed to help with the lockups and crashes. Just FYI.

My thief just turned down a chance to join the Dark Brotherhood. Violently.

Man I need to get this game.

One bad thing about working for the U.S. in Europe is that the P.X. is slow to get new games. Guess I'd better get this one on order!

Interesting, I don't get any crashes or lockups what so ever.

Aside from that, I did a dungeon crawl the other day. That was a hoot!

I went into the first Oblivion gate too early. Even if the mobs gain skill as you level, you at least get way better moves and better equipment.

I closed the Oblivion gate, fought my way into Kratch, and got to the castle when my only sword broke. I had to punch monsters until one of my companions died -- fortunately, he had a sword. Everyone else eventually died, though. In the end, I had to kill four of those flaming people, and a couple of those big deamon things, all by my lonesome, picking them off one by one as best I could. It really came down to me dodging back and forth while casting my sissy heal on myself, and trying to avoid fireballs. I killed the last fire person thing with just a millimeter of health left.

Granted, it would have been easy if I had more health potions and extra swords. :-P

Where?

I'm not aware of any patches for Oblivion, so I second that "where?".

In other notes, I found an Oblivion gate on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere. That was kind of neat. And there are paths/bridges in the mountains as well, so they're not completly unused.

That's cool.

All your patches would be found here if Oblivion had a patch yet:

Dev is a game behind still :P
Patches? We don't need no stinkin patches!

I haven't had it crash on me yet.
Hell of a lot more stable than Morrowind. Of course I don't have 3 esm and 100 esp running so we'll see what it's like after an expansion and some plugins.
Closed the Kvach gate, at level 3, was a good tough fight. Always carry healing potions!
Somehow I messed up my karma, did a little B&E (practicing security skill) and now I can't get healed at the temple. What I've read so far says "raise your fame to cover your infamy" but I have no infamy. Fame is at 3. No bounty. Yet I still can't use temple. Sucks because I'm not at the point where I can cast restore stats and my agility got drained in Oblivion.

Actually I downloaded a patch for Oblivion but it turns out that it's not a patch at all...*shoots it again to make sure its dead* My bad!

Oblivion is more addictive than crack...I must of played for 8 hours straight before the wife knocked me out and drug me to bed at midnight.

In the first few quest its a good idea to loot your fallen companions, their armor is better than anything you find in chest and their weapons are very nice as well. I joined the blades and they give you a complete set of all their toys after you return the heir safely and I'm already heading to the "hidden temple" thing where the cult hangs out.

The graphics are awesome to the point that even my new system with a 256meg video card can't handle them at full blast.

Now if we can hack it and turn it into a multiplayer game to replace isometric UO... :P

I run it at max settings without any lag. :-P

I joined the Blades, as well. Their stuff is no better than that you get from the Legionnaires that fight with you during the Kvatch siege, but it is prettier and the sword is better.

I have decided to quit picking up and selling everything as is the usual routine in this sort of game. I only take what I need, and sell extras I happen to have when in town. It is oddly refreshing to not worry about money or equipment as much as in other games.

I also decided not to bother doing every quest the first time. I want to try other play styles after I beat it once.

Wah!
Light armor for me and I haven't found anything better than the Kvatch chain (I shot an imp off into the lava and the dumbass jumped down to attack it and died)
Joined the Dark Brotherhood (I'm an assassin afterall), Fighters, Mages, Blades.
Roaming around the Imperial City right now. Way cool.

Hmm...I noticed it got really quiet in the forums after Oblivion came out! :P

This game kicks ass, havent had this much fun in a while! After saving my coins I have a house that used to be haunted along with a horse. The only bad part is you cant attack from horseback anymore but the house is killer, it even has a secret room in the basement which is 2 stories and the house which is another 2 stories. Has more room than you can shake a stick at.

You start finding nicer stuff after level 7.

After you clear a dungeon you can take all the stuff in the dungeon and put it in a container there then go back to town and sell it off when ever you want. Its easy to make money off selling all the plants you find in the woods too. If UO was like this I would never leave except to complete the divorce paperwork my wife would file against me

Yeah, I got the same house. You can buy stuff for the other houses, but not the Anvil one.

That damn necromancer was hard for me to kill!
