Heres something you might try if you really want to create a secret door or room ingame.
Create the room or passage just like normal, now go back and tile over the area with the dungeon area tiles at a z hight of 10-15 higher than the floor region (takes some playing around to align them with the tops of the walls sometimes and this is done just like you would in the "Cave Tutorial").
This will allow you to create a passage, room or secret area that is "invisible" to the average passer by. Names of critters there in might give the area away however so they should be placed well off screen if you wish it to be very well hidden for long.
Another little trick is to place the walls on the "North" and "West" sides after the statics for the other sides have been placed. This will prevent people from seeing through them as they pass by as they can with static placed objects thus preventing the real secret door from standing out like a sore thumb. Always include a hidden release for the secret door or players just double clicking walls at random will find it very easily.
