Hey guys, again some newbie (probably) questions!
So i've been worldbuilding, and I've been making some dungeons. A piece from one dungeon isn't displaying properly, it has a custom static piece.

I can use sphere 55i with client 2.0.0b and this is how it displays
Image

but if I use Runuo RC2, with client 4.0.11, the platform in which my shard is being developed..
Image

the tiles appear as unused!
And just a little bit more info.. in both pictures, I am using a clean world (no npcs, no items) and I am using the same map files..

So frustrating! I have no idea what to do!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It might be a client issue. Have you tried it with client 2.0.0b?

I tried that, but I dont think RUNUO 2.0 works with any client below 4.x
I tried connecting with an un-encrypted client (2.0.0b) but I only had a black screen upon entering world..
Anyone else have any ideas?

I don't think its RunUO, I think its an issue with Client 2.x doing things differently than Client 4.x.

Here are a few random ideas.

Unfortunately I'm at work right now and I don't have access to a UO client. But dig around in the UO client directory. There are a number of small text files that have configuration data in them. For instance, there is one called mobtypes.txt that tells the client which animations are equipment, monsters, etc. See if there is something like that for Static IDs. It could be that you need to add your new static to a config file in the client dir. Not sure if this is the problem but its worth taking a quick look to check it out.

Another thing you can try just to test things out. From within the game, try [add static id (where id is the id number of your custom static). See if you are able to create one this way from within the game. If you still get a nodraw tile, try moving the static to a different location in the MUL file and do [add static again to see if you can get it appear from any location.

I tried looking for something similar to mobtypes, but I couldnt find anything.. I also noticed (yeah, I guess I am a bit slow) my custom paperdoll isn't appearing either, though it does on Sphere..
I heard somewhere that this could possibly be due to the newer versions of UO not reading the verdata, but instead taking most of its information from the art.mul

If anyone has any idea on how to patch the art.mul manually, I'd be grateful, I haven't been able to turn up any information on that.

That is definately it. You are absolutely right. Newer clients don't read the verdata.

You will need to move the art from verdata.mul to their corresponding mul files (gumps.mul, art.mul, etc.)

Its really just as easy as putting them in vberdata.mul. You're just going to save them and then re-load them into gumps.mul, art.mul, and tiledata.mul.

Try TDV Mulpatcher:

THANK YOU!
Thats -exactly- what I needed. I took a glance at the program (with what, 12 tabs!?) and thought I'd never get it - but its probably the easiest program ive encountered. It works just like it should!
A million thanks!!
Now to spend the next six years patching my art!

No problem, glad it worked out!

Yeah, TDV Mulpatcher is a GREAT tool once you figure it out. Check back on that site often because he updates it fairly regularly. :)
