Do I get points for guessing correctly?

Sydius, . . . I'm enjoying your polls of the moment, by the way. Interesting info for folks who might be thinking of building their own worlds.

Well, you are close ? as some people here know (Ry, Dev, Xuri), I have been working on various single and online RPGs for years. People repeatedly guess this by my polls, though.

And yes, I am accepting all those who are interested, so long as they do not make jerks of themselves. Right now, the slate is blank, but there are a few key concepts that I am very set on, but I am trying to find people opposed to those concepts to balance things out a bit.

Oh, as for content providers, there will be an extremely high standard applied to code, and pretty low standards on music and art (since we will take what we can get).

I consider myself to be advanced in my knowledge of C++, and expect all those who contribute code to be at least as advanced as myself, or close to it. I will help you get up to speed, but no code will be accepted that is not extremely clean and well designed (to prevent spaghetti nightmares, as UOX turned into).

This aspect is not certain yet (nor is much of anything else), but I am definitely leaning towards fully 3D, due to a number of reasons.

I can't believe it. For YEARS I wanted to see such a project. I tried to gather a team of people to start it but it never worked for me.
Since I'm not a programmer, I can try to help in other ways. I'm in contact with people who are, and I will tell them of this project.
I will also be ordering a dedicated server in a couple of months, so you be sure to ask if you need it for tests or anything like this.

Could you give more info about the project, though? Maybe some more exact details?
Thanks

There are no exact details yet. This project is VERY early in the design stages ? I want to get a few voices in before I lay any major groundwork, to offset my often unbalanced opinions on things (like PvP).

It will likely be 3D, and it will most likely feature alien planet with alien races, but in a medieval setting ? like Ryzom (www.ryzom.com) (this is to make it easier on our artists, and free us from having to research a million real-life animals/myths/buildings/materials/etc.) but it will feature very Ultima-like gameplay.

People are much more willing to help if they help shape the game, though, I think.
