First of all, there's MILLIONS of OSI clones out there. And even more since RunUO came out, so it's not really a good idea.

Second, I don't think you'll get any scripters when posting on a mapmaker forum. Go to www.sphereserver.net and post on the boards there.

Third if you are serious about running a good shard, then forget Sphere, make the switch to RunUO.

Someday I will get you to abandon your evil ways Rose. :P

It was really hard for me to leave Sphere too. I mean I knew how to script all kinds of goodys, I was getting real good with custom gumps even. C# whaaa?! I couldn't write a script from scratch for RunUO (granted I haven't put much time into it, I'm busy with you know what) but I can find the variables in most anything that doesn't suit me and change it. I've got less effort into learning it so far than I did in Sphere. I spent more time trying to overcome bugs in Sphere than being productive. Granted I quit OSI years ago but as far as I know out of the box RunUO has nearly full functionality AND it is completely customizeable.

55i bugs are getting alot of fixes in revisions, and it's kells purpose to completely rid 55i of its bugs, or at least for the most part. Next to that some really sweet new features are added. I suggest you check it out before continuing with RunUO :)

Thanks I needed a good laugh tonight.
Even if they fixed all the bugs, the engine is far inferior and Kell is working under a lot of limitations. It's kind of like me fixing Dragon; there is only so much I can do.
Plus Orbsydia has some new tools coming out that will make you drool, BUT they are made for RunUO.

(Disclaimer: This is friendly banter, if it gets ugly or people get their feathers ruffled I'll stop, except for Meanysoft employees, who can kiss my arse)

Unfortunately, it'd be a little more than changing a few variables here and there, or editing bits of similar scripts to get what I need out of a UO emu. I don't know C#, if I did I probably would have ran over to RunUO when it first came out.

The only limitations Kell is working under are time, he's a college student and possibly employed on top of that (not sure). He added stuff I didn't think possible in sphere without a complete rewrite of half the source... and he did it in a few minutes or a couple hours without changing all the syntax on us hehe. Kell is god 8)

Either way, converting (or even convincing) a Sphere user to like RunUO or a RunUO user to like Sphere would be about as successful as convincing a Chevy truck driver that Ford trucks are reliable (or vice versa) *grins*

Doesn't anyone find it really scary that Kell has been able to fix all these problems that Menace hasn't?
