? is also "th"...

"?e" would be "the"

Along comes a printing press... ? becomes "Y" and you have morons who name their shops "Ye olde..."

Don't some folks have different languages in their games that you have to learn? I know Star Wars Online did. But, UO shards?

I, personally, think it'd be cool and very immersive for each race to have their own language and, then, maybe a universal "trade" language of some kind.

Shattered Sosaria will feature languages for each race, in addition to a "common" language which all understand. If someone speaks in a language that you don't know, all you will see is gibberish!

I've had that planned for my shard since 1998! :P And it's actually been a feature of UOX3 for almost that long as well :)

Really? I've just seen 'H4xx0r' typings here or there...Do people even roleplay on MMORPG's? :P Since Runescape, my fingers and eyes aside grew bored from seeing the old "F%#k u n00b roflmao lol"
Such bad days :evil:
By myself, I prefer norse than old english, but both are sort of interesting

Olde English != Roleplaying

It's not a requirement for roleplaying, and in many cases it's also not "in-character".

People haven't figured out yet that roleplaying is playing the role of a character, not speaking another language. 8)

*wonders how close she got*

I knew wifman means "woman", because I and some folks on a writing board were talking about the literal meaning just recently. The rest, though.... (found an online Old English dictionary)

"It is to laugh with (to make flavor?), though." Maybe, "It's meant to add flavor?" as in add "spice" to the game?

"(Whether?) you think (on the outside of?) it, you are role-playing an old English speaking woman." ?

How'd I do? ;)
