I bought a game for my cell phone -- something I do not normally do. I was curious, though. I got "Brothers in Arms 3D"... Well, I must say, I am impressed. The graphics are roughly equivalent to the first Tomb Raider, which is saying a lot considering it is a cell phone game. The physics engine is surprisingly good, and collision detection seems good, too. There are also a bunch of friendlies and enemies fighting at the same time in most situations, though the freindlies seem more like distractions for the enemy than anything else. The missions are short and sweet, and have many check points, though I fear there are not enough of them. There is a bit of replay value, though, given the medal and award system. The biggest downside is the simple difficulty of playing a FPS on a cell phone -- the controls are difficult to master, but the game goes a long way to compensate by helping you aim a bit and you automagically crouch and do other moves whenever appropriate.

Cell phones were bad enough before...people driving down the roads yaking on them all day and night killing people because they were looking at the number pad instead of the road...

It should be legal to kill people who drive and talk on the phone....

The only thing I have use for a phone of any kind is to dial 911 or for pizza delivery other than that I hate them with a passion. I leave the house to have fun..not so everyone can call to annoy me while I'm trying to enjoy myself or take care of business.

They say chatting on the internet via instant messengers drops your IQ by 10 points for a while...I think cell phones drop them 20 points forever with each use and by 50 points if your behind the wheel of a big SUV.

Besides you know that all your ringtones, games and locations from which call are being made from or too are being monitored by the service host and sold off to other companies who research that type of information. The aliens put a tracking probe up your ass and the governments put them in your cell phones....either way your screwed.

I have never answered my phone unless I felt like it. Most of the time, I do not feel like it. If it is an emergency, people know to call me over and over until I do answer, but otherwise, I just call them back when I feel like it. It annoys my family a bit, but they?re used to it.

As for tracking, I do not care. My phone even has GPS (as do all Verizon phones, I think), so they can track me to within feet. I was watching this show? apparently that is one of the major ways they catch criminals.

Actually wireless is what the government wants...you don't need a search warrent if its broadcast over the air.

Not that I have anything to hide other than that one thing...but it wasn't really my fault...and everyone survived the explosion even if covered in twinky filling.

"ALL" Phones sold are "Required" to have GPS chips in them and it's used for more than criminal catching but I don't want to sound paranoid or spook anyone so I'll leave it to their imagination.

Most new cars also come with GPS systems that still track even if you do not pay the subscription for Onstar. Oh by the way...you don't need to push the button for them to hear what your saying either...

On a side note...did you ever realize that speakers are actually low grade microphones? I'll leave that one to the imagination too...While Hubble is taking photo's of the universe with one end...the other is taking photo's of the earth. If it can see 80,000 lightyears away, I bet it can tell if you have a grey hair on your ass.

There is nothing secret, nothing sacred. If it is...it is watched...if it is typed or spoken it is recorded and classified and has been for a long time.

Welcome to the 21st Century!

Hopefully no one talks in their sleep.

Haha, exactly why I don't have a cellphone. :P

But did you know, those aluminum hats that people make to supposedly "stop" the US government, or aliens to track you? Well check this out...

http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/

A quote from the site...
Quote:
Using a $250,000 network analyser, we find that although on average all helmets attenuate invasive radio frequencies in either directions (either emanating from an outside source, or emanating from the cranium of the subject), certain frequencies are in fact greatly amplified. These amplified frequencies coincide with radio bands reserved for government use according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Statistical evidence suggests the use of helmets may in fact enhance the government's invasive abilities. We speculate that the government may in fact have started the helmet craze for this reason.

Haha, so take that for some food for thought.

Those people "DO" exsist!?

I always thought it was something from the movies to poke fun of people...

If I had $250,000 I would find better things to blow it on than testing foil helmets to keep the government out of my brain. Besides its the aliens that get in your brain! The government only wants whats in your wallet! :P

I think you are a bit on the paranoid side, honestly. A significant number of people still drive older vehicles, and most of those barely have a working radio, let alone a tracking system built in. I know, with current technology, that it only makes it slightly harder to find you, but still.

As for the On-Star comment... I do not entirely doubt it, but I imagine one of those monkeys would have spilled the beans and the media would love to chew up that story (unless they are sponsored by On-Star, heh)... but I have not heard any such thing, even from non-commercialized media (which I trust more).

In the end, though, you are right -- everything that exists is or will be known to somebody else, period -- often government entities. It is something to think about and maybe even something to worry about, but so long as information is power, it will be inevitable and fighting it is an exercise in self-deception by giving you a false sense of privacy. If they want to know something, they will, and fighting it will likely just draw their attention anyway.

If it ever gets to the point where I feel I need to join a secret underground resistance, then I will stop using electronics and worry a bit more about satellites looking down on me. Until then, I am going to play games on my cell phone and waste time talking about irrelevancies on this forum.

I'm not paranoid...just realistic.

After working in a secure vault for a few years and watching how quickly people forget their being watched from 50 different angles and its all being recorded I understand why the government is slowly peeling away everyones privacy.

Take one and they raise hell for a couple of months then they go back to @#^$^! like rabbits and forget all about it...then they sneak in another...and so on and so on.

But that's ok with me since I have nothing to hide (that they can get to or know about  ) so let them take everything they want.

If they feel the urge to dial that special number my dad showed me that allows you to over ride the phone and allows you to hear what is being said without picking up the phone thats ok too, all they will get is an ear full of "Why does TV suck ass so bad now days?" or "WHAT THE HELL KIND OF COMMERCIAL WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE? IS IT SOFT PORN OR A CAR SALES AD?".

Personally I long for the day everyone becomes a "hive" mind and there are no more lies or secrets. Seven billion brains in one head...that should be much more fun! :P

Resistence is futile...
