I spent the 4th with Kathleen and two of her friends. We went up to the top of a skyscraper in downtown San Francisco, to a private garden where we had a little party. Everybody brought some kind of desert, and we threw those ?pop-its? (the things you throw at people?s feet that make a loud pop) off from the top onto the abandoned street below. Before long, though, we realized that there was no way we would be able to see the fireworks from the distance we were away, so we began running (literally) down to Fisherman?s Warf to see them up close. We got there just in time for the finale, which I did not think was worth running all that way and walking all the way back for.

Overall, it was a fun night, though.

That's alright. One Canada Day back in Winnipeg there was so much traffic getting downtown for the fireworks we got to watch them reflected in the windows of an office building across the street. =P
