OK anyone know if UOX can work in Windows XP?
Same thing with UOGateway and all of those. I ask because I am trying to hook up a friend of mine with UOX and fun stuff like that and he uses XP. And I can't for the life of me get it to work on his comp. So any help would be appreciated.

I haven't tried myself, and I'm sure this is ultra-obvious, but sometimes people forget: Did you try changing the "compatability" mode of the program?

Compatability what? Where do I find that and how do I change it?

Right-click on the program, go to "properties," click the "compatability" tab, check the "Run this program in compatability mode" box (or whatever it's called), then there should be a drop-down box with Win98/ME, 95, etc. I'd try the 98 option, but if that don't work, try the others. Should be pretty self-explanitory.

hmm... Didn't work. I'll try something else...
Well tried all the others. Still don't work... I talked to Jediman and he said it was just that I am useing XP home. He said that if I were using Pro that it would work no problem.
Well thanks for your help.

I really don't know about anything either way under XP Home.
I use XP Pro, and from experience, UOX 7x, UOX 9x, Sphere and POL work fine, along with all 3rd pary tools (some do require compatibility mode)

hmmm.... I think I'll just download all that stuff at home and burn it for my friend... that way I don't have to spend 6 hours downloading one program....
