Post subject:  Mul Editing [textures (tiles) and art]

Greets fellow mapmakers.

I've made some good progress with my lil' map by now..
However, I got bored with the "standard" art in UO and thought I might do my own modifications. I've tried some of the extraction/insertion programs out there (UO Mul Editor, Mulpatcher) to do my modifications. Wonderful programs, yet a little cumbersome.
Im currently thinking about largescale mods to the tile-database but the problem is it will take forever unless I can get my head around this :D

Let me explain. Using Mul Editor I've been able to extract art to .bmp files, modify them and then insert them back into the .mul file. The problem is as I've discovered, it will take hours and hours to do with a large amount of files...

So my calling goes out to anyone..
What progs do you use to edit .mul files?
Is there a prog out there that can automize the extraction/insertion of art?
Where can I find tutorials regarding the subject (or tuts concerning .mul filestructure)?

Any help is appreciated!
