i noticed that in the scripts section under map0 there wasn't a file named starfield2grass or grass2starfield. does this mean that i cant create malas-like maps in the map0 slot? (as i am assuming those files are for creating transitions between types of terrain)

You will need the later version of the Mod9+ -- Or you can visit my site and take a look at my IMod13.

My IMod13 for Dragon 1.0362 allows starfield to grass transitions and works perfectly. I have also made 9 new terrain types that can be used as well.

you can get all the details there under the IMod13 link.

That means that Starfloor have equal script for all landscape tile, either grass, sand, rock, snow or any other one. That named starfloor2A or something like that. Since i haven't used Dragon for long time, i could not be more certain, but i know that currently starfloor in Dragon must have overall script to interact with other land types.

Of couse if you would be very patient and creative, you can make an individual transitions beetween starfloor and other grounds, but that are surely not necessary.

in the STATBETWEENTRANS.TXT file located in the SCRIPTS folder, you will see a section

///////////////////////////////////
//starfield transition to grass
///////////////////////////////////
00 1b rock2grass.txt
1b 00 star2rock.txt

This takes care of the transition between starfield and grass using the Rock (hardend lava) just like on the Malas landmass.

You can create a starfield area or landmass on a Map0 and it should work perfectly. I had no problems at all.
