There's been quite a bit of discussion lately about getting the scripts adjusted/fixed/etc. Here's a little time saver for when you are not changing the map, but are just tweaking scripts.
Comment out (using '//' at the beginning of a line) all the lines in the script files except what you are working with. For example, if you are tweaking the forest.txt script, the only line that should not be commented out in the items.txt is:
01 0075 0000 0000 6143 4095 forest.txt
For this example, you can also comment out ALL lines in the following files:
betweentrans.txt
betweentrans2.txt
statbetweentrans.txt
statbetweentrans2.txt
statbetweentrans3.txt
This will significantly speed up the Dragon run. Since you don't need to create the transitions for standard statics, you'll be able to wait less time between tweaks. Just remember to not use the map it creates, as it'll be without transitions.
If you are working on scripts that rely on a transition, just uncomment the transition you need ( For example, some cave scripts require a transition to work correctly)
And finally, remember to back up your files. I've actually got a completely separate copy of the Dragon folder just for working with scripts. For the example above (working with forest.txt) it took 22 seconds to run Dragon.
