My first guess is that your bmp is not indexed properly. You're using Photoshop? or Gimp?

Have you changed any scripts?

Hmm... Did you draw the map then index it, or index it then draw it? Does the cave floor you get in place of the swamp and forest have different altitudes or is it all flat? You say everything else works fine. What other terrain are you using? Water, snow, jungle, grass, roads...?

im using all other terrain grass sand etc,. all at a 0 altitude except for the mountain and the grassbump. and swamp and forest at 0 altitude aswell but comes up as cave floor. also forest at altitude 10 works. because i have some ontop of a grassbump. dragon is a little bit more annoying then the first time i used it to make a map. and as far as i know its been index the entire time ive been editing it. it is on and ive never changed it at all,...

Nope wait everything is screwed up really.. didnt notice just grass and mountain work. seriously thats kinda stupid. i load the swatches. i put them in save it and i get crap. its just messed i didnt have to go through this with my last map.

hahahah i think i fixed it. all i did is change it to RGB color then change it back to index using the custom palette ill keep everyone updated so if anyone pulls a Me they can find some help

I thought that was probably what was going on. My first question was asking whether you had indexed the bmp.
