Is it possible to change the base Z plane that dragon uses to render its maps? |

Base Z Plane, in Dragon? it must be too damn early for me.. cause I seriously dont know what you really mean there. off top of my head, all Z levels are set in the MapTrans file. Sounds like you mean as if there was no specified Z level, it would default to a base Z. But I cant think of any way you could not have a color specified on the image |

I have maps made for zplane 0 that I want to have moved to a negative zplane. I'm hoping I can do it without having to completely redo the pallette. |

Maybe just wait for Map Generator 2, should be coming out soon. |

All you have to do is edit the maptrans.txt to reflect the new altitudes you want. So whereas I chose 0 for the base delta and you want say -80, then you go in and change 0 to -80 and then go on along the line for each terrain entry. No need to change the palette. Sure the labeling will be off, but if you keep the same 2 Z steps (5Z for mountain) then you just have to think of them as base delta + stated altitude on swatches. For mapgenerator 2 the process is a little different but you can accomplish the same thing. Because I still consider 0 to be the base delta (although I have current tables going as low as -32). Don't like it you can change it. |
