Two questions:

1. I am thinking about making a huge city ... 1000 x 2000 tiles in size ... and having various quests and adventure within the city ... temple of evil priests ... assassins guild to root out ... and such ... does this seem possible???

2. What tool do you use to place buildings ... prefab buildings ... I am currently using Xuri's Worldbuilder to construct the city walls and roads and such ... but to use this for all those buildings would take forever ... building them all from scratch ... I tried the "load world and start house extraction" option but it says that the items.wsc file does not exist (which it doesn't anywhere on my system) ...

Punt's World Maker has a great building placement utility that allows you to place and even move entire structures easily.

Another good tool is UO Architect. Not sure if it is currently online tho but here's the site URL:

And of course in RunUO you can build stuff in-game and then freeze it to your MUL files (or even use one of the utilities above to store your structure for later placement/use). A good multi-purpose GM utility that us handy for in-game construction is Pandora's Box:

That's a big ass city. You could use map4 if you want to make it 1448x1448 and have links to an overland map (the other maps)
Going to be a hell of a lot of work on your part, but I think it would make for an interesting game.
On the official shards, it all just turns into 1 big suburban sprawl anyway, so a huge city as the centerpiece of your world and with the action centered around it is fine.

Your only real problem with that (aside from the work involved to make it :P) is gonna be navigation.

I get lost in two of our cities still, after years of staring at the map/statics, and neither are anywhere near that large lol.

HEY! I made toilets for UO, graphics that is.

To make them truly wonderous they need to add two sound effects, the fart...and the splat followed by a *sigh* :wink:
