Hi.

Maybe that forum isn't related to making new items, but i've seen that thera are some threads about this.. so.. don't hit me :P

I have a little question. All arts on site with new graphics to UO are with white background. But, when i try to add it to verdata (MulBuilider Beta 2 & Paradise) i see in game white 'something' around the item. When i change the background to black, all is ok. So, i need to change all backgrounds to white ?! How can i do it without that changes? Any suggestion? :/
If verdata supports only black background, why on http://uo-pixel.de/ , http://uo-graphics.uo-francophone.net/ ...everywere... are white backgrounds... ?!

Thx.

background color had to be solid white (255) or black ( 0 ).
Sometimes people make new art and post it without having tested the art themselves.. this is why there are some art out there like that. You simply need to fill the background color in with a filler tool, or in some cases edit carfully with a brush.

then change it to the black, 0. Im unsure why sometimes the white 255 does not work.. I have had this happen before as well, never really researched the cause to the problem.

Sometimes, when making new art and filling the background, anti-alias or the incorrect tolerence could be chosen. In which case, you'll get a "halo" of light color along the edges of the new art.

If this is the case, as Dian says, you just need to tweak the edges to be sure they're "pure" white OR that everything is "pure" black. :)

I am aware of some tools at least not checking the 255 value. Through my experience with muls, pure black (0) has been consistent throughout, but it is not always true with pure white.

So, I would not assume that all tools at least support pure white.

ahhh, that would make sence. I cant think right off if that is the case from my experience.. but since I have used different tools over time, it seems like the perfect explaination, thanks for that bit of info, Punt :)
