Okay I want to add to a old map is there a way to get the mul files so that a BMP will come out and i can edit it and or add too it. I made a nice map and made it static for my shard but i lost the bmp to keep working on it I am using sphere 55i as well. There is a screen shot of my map on my site. I think i can use UOCOPY but I am not sure.

If your adding islands or other features then yes UOCopy is a good program.

If your actually changing the main landmass then Dragon might be able to help you out, it has a map2bmp program that can reverse maps into bmp files for editing.

Syd also made a great program for turning the cow into hamburger and back into the cow. If you ask really nicely he might send you a copy, he removed them from his site a couple of months ago.

There is a Map-to-BMP program by Punt floating around which converts maps into UO Landscaper format. I'm not sure where my copy is at the moment but someone might be able to provide a link.

The only shortcoming is that it won't support the newer Mondain's Legacy Map0 size. But you can use another utility by Punt to convert the old Map0 size to the new Map0 size (the utility inserts blank data in the extra space).

I've found UOCopy to be buggy when copying from certain areas (try copying certain statics from Ocllo). However there are a few other options to copy between maps. Some of the newer versions of Worldforge have a map copy function. I believe that Punt's Worldmaker allows cut-and-paste and copying between maps. Also, I think TDV Mulpatcher also has a map copy function.

Punt's Worldmaker:

TDV Mulpatcher:

Worldforge for POL (custom for POL servers, but has map copy function and other useful updates):

Worldmaker would be your next option.

Or if you have the time, recreate your world with either UO Landscaper or Dragon.
