Advertise it as a new feature; Mountainclimbing! ;P
Sorry, couldn't resist. No idea why that happens - the client usually restricts walking on mountain tiles even if the server allows it, I believe.

Yes, the client restricts movement over mountains, and does not even bother asking the server if it is OK. Assuming it did ask, though, the server would still say ?No mountain climbing for you!??

Are you sure that you are on mountain tiles, and not just very high grass or dirt tiles?

Well, to walk directly on a mountain tile, two things would have to be broken: the client *AND* the server. That seems unlikely, especially the client part.

How did you create the mountain? What server are you using? How far up the mountain can you walk? What client are you using?

What tileid is being used for the mountain. In tiledata.mul, is the flag to make that tile not walkable set?

In UO there were a few mountain tile west of Minoc that you could also climb up. But it was restiricted as to how far and high. After climbing a few tiles up you would fall off and do a little scream. So I dont think it is anything you did, I think it just happens under certain map conditions.

Try changing the land tiles around the mountain. I am sure the land is what is being climbed and not the "mountain"

hi

you are thinking bad about tile.

Not all tile work in the same way, if you place mountain at 30 and grass all around at 0, you have this in worlforge:

------------------------------
| || || |
| 0 || 0 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------
| || || |
| 0 || 30 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------
| || || |
| 0 || 0 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------

but in game you see this

------------------------------
| || || |
| 30 || 30 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------
| || || |
| 30 || 30 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------
| || || |
| 0 || 0 || 0 |
| || || |
------------------------------

more or less (hard to explain in this way).

where you can't see with your player (north, east, n-e) tile doesn't climb as where you can see them.

To avoid your problem, make two tile of mountain at the same high of the grass, your player climb on the grass-mountain tile

hem, if you speak italian call me (doesn't know if this is useful)

bye

I use sphereserver 55i and client 2.0.3. I can walk up the first tile. It's like Almrac described. I have the grass at 0 and the mountains at 50.

Yeah, perfectly normal. If it really bothers you, just put the first tile of mountain at the same altitude as the surrounding ground tiles.
