I am currently working on a custom map with MG2 and I came upon a strange problem. After I made a test version of it I found some pieces of the old map in it. Usually building and parts of land. I would assume this is a fairly common problem but I could not find anything with search.

Heres an example:

Also, just to throw it out there. Can anyone tell me what tiles sets to use to soften up the edges of the desert and snow tiles against water?

It might be caused by the "diff" files for map0. Try creating empty map0 diff files and re-examining the map. The diff files are used for adding patches to the maps and I found that they can wreak havoc with not only the map displaying incorrectly but also they create "ghosts" in UO AutoMap. What I did was create empty text files and renamed them to the names of the map0 and map1 diff file names. It fixed my map right up.

I am using dragon 9 btw.

well.....

How he got that type file to work is amazing. Its not as simple as just changing the names of the files and dropping them in. There are utilities out there that will compare your original and your new map, take the differences and make the "DIF" file for you.

When I get more time, I'll try an look lthem up for you.

Here are the blank 'diffs' I created. They contain no data. Give them a try and let me know if they work. I'll leave them on my server for anyone who needs them. There are empty diffs for both ma 0, map 1, statics 0 and statics 1.

No joy :( still getting the random things all over the place. Could it have anything to do with dragon mod 9?

Just delete any file with "DIF" in the name. There should be like 11 of them.

I tried deleting them and it did work for getting rid of the ghosts but I found UO Automap was complaining. Hopefully that will work for Caspar.

Deleted files or using the blank ones from this site doesn't work either.

still getting stuff like that:

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=520406

No idea why. Should I be including the diff files somewhere when I'm compiling my map with dragon mod 9? Or is it completely seperate from the map0.mul file?
