This problem isn't exactly with map generator 2, but its close or caused by it.
I use mapgenerator 2 and World Forge for creating maps, but I'm having this annoying problem. After I've drawn my map and generated it with the mapgen I try to open it with World Forge but it just won't open and WF shows error message "Read beyond end of file". I've tried how the generated map works with UO, but the whole map is a mess and when I try to open the map with UOAM the program crashes.

I've tried prety much everything, and the damn thing just won't work.

I'd realy like some help here :)
-Thanks, Epze.

A few things that may help:

1. If you are replacing Map0.mul, the map size changed with the newer clients (starting with Mondain's Legacy). The old map size was 6144 x 4096. The new map size is 7168 x 4096.

2. When using Map Maker, make sure you are putting in blocks vs. pixels, and that the blocks are divisible by 8. For old size Map0.mul it would be 768 x 512 blocks, for newer size Map0.mul it would be 896 x 512 blocks.

Hope this helps.

I've already tried with different map sizes, including those. Doesn't have any effect, world forge won't work with the map file and inside UO the map looks like a total mess.

Thanks anway tho. :)

It's almost definately something you are doing wrong either with the source map or in setting the block sizes.

Yeah I know it can be done :P
Anyawy, I've tried to use default trammel and tokuno sizes and generated the map from blank .bmp:s that I first generated with mapgen. No matter what, WF shows the same error.

Now that I tested it today, WF did something to my map, but now when I try to view it with map edit, I get a new error: "I/O error 32". Atleast its starting to look bit better. :)

Thanks for the answers.

What map are you trying to use with it?

Make sure your source map is saved as a 256 color indexed bitmap.

Which map are you trying to replace? You have to use one of the pre-defined map sizes, the client (and UO tools) expect the map to be one of the pre-defined map sizes and not a custom map size.

As I said, I used the blank files that were generated by mapgen2. But anyway, my tactic to bash all the buttons 'till things work has succeeded and mepgen now complies the map flawlessly. Thanks for the help everyone! =)
