Greetings guys,

Its good to see you havent died, because im back to restart that uo hobby of mine, based on the novels i am writing and plan to someday publish.

Orbsydia is pretty dead, but i've been having fun with there UO Architect.

*When i get Creative Suite 2.3 later this month i plan to begin drawing away on a new map.

*I would like to do some gump editing, but cant find a tutorial newhere on making ur own swords and what not.

*I would liek to finally learn C#, without getting told off the runuo.com forums.

*i would like to regain knowledge that i've forgotten about uo, a lot of stuff thats just like Oh Duh!

But im honestly stuck between UOL and Worldmaker/Dragon that can do 3 tile transitions.

Im hoping UO: Kingdom Reborn will repopularize Ultima Online, what do u think?

Where's Dian?

also i owe an apology to Punt, because i was so close with the orbsydia devs for awhile i didnt even know Punt used to be apart of there team for awhile. Great job, doing what is right for this community and its members. I seen some Dragon Generator 2 action in the summer of 06, about the time when the news brokeout that worlds could be custom sized now, but not conviently.

I go to the university in a few weeks, i've been on this account since...2001 and its 2007

I cannot escape the grasp of uo *sigh*

I'm sure punt will probably point this out on his own but - I don't think punt was ever actually a "member" of Orbsydia's dev team. He posted on Orbsydia occasionally and posted a few utilities that he wrote. Then there was some kind of falling out.

alright we are both the same people...

Whats going on with the custom map sizes by modifying the client?

I havent really tried Dragon Map Gen yet, but Dian bragged to me over the summer about it, and it got me hyped up.

But at that time i was workng a hell of a lot, and still am.

:D

Is there a full tutorial on it somewhere? that is not out of date?
including pictures.

If not give me an overview of what i need to do.

I cannot get Creative Suite 2.3 yet, i know i could download photoshop but im buying it soon. When i register for classes i'll beable to purchase Creative Suite 2.3, and i cant wait for that.
-Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver,InDesign,GoLive,etc

well time to go get a haircut.

also how's the popularity of this forum as of late? are you the only one alive and kicking?

It works! There is a thread here that explains how to do it. It requires a little sector editing in the client.

This is the closest thing I have found to a tutorial:

Basically its similar to Dragon only that you draw all the terrain on one .bmp and you draw all the altitude on the other .bmp.

It's been a little quiet lately but it seems to be picking back up. :)

Im just getting back into the UO scene myself and intend on writing a .NET DLL (For other coders) and an Application to modify the client sizes and wrapping points, to save the manual editing.

And yeah, like Hellrazor says, its picking up here now.

Perhaps its just people getting tired of the crap that goes on in each respective server community :P (Even Sphere's having 'problem-people' now)

Bmzx007, that would be awesome.

Something else that would be awesome would be something that patches the client to change the number of skills the client will read. I have some old source code for a utility that did this but it no longer works with newer clients and I lack the knowledge to update it.

If something like that were available it would allow you to have unlimited skills which would actually show up in the skills menu, etc. without having to code a custom gump and skill system.

Instead of throwing out more maps and new lands, and new rares and items all the time.......

they should look at the history of there messing up, and try to fix it all no matter how much reversing they have to do.

little rusty but a few things that made me angry:

The Ruining of PVP with item insurance, and special moves, and different item properties.....
The Ruining of MagicResist.

The inability to nerf the Animal Tamers, who tore everything up.
Putting the monsters on Viagra for awhile.......

The custom housing, i dont really like it.........
I remember at one time or another they ruined skill gains....

just little stuff like that.

and whens the last time there was a good quest? I remember being excited when Orcs were attacking Delucia.

I hate the quest screens....etc etc
